Quite right. I've not read it but these people should have special spaces reserved at the far end of car parks so they get some more exercise. In fact, driving licences should be conditional on having a reasonable BMI, encourage bloaters to exercise/consume fewer resources.

As has been observed previously, Littlejohn in a ****.

yes it is quite funny to watch fat fu<kers driving around the asda car park waiting for a space near the door to become available so they do not have to waddle to far to get their meat filled w cheese micro ready meal.

Only if you're some kind of vicious little tw... oh, point taken.

No christ we wouldn't want to identify with someone who says what most of us think would we?
If anyone wants to make a proper argument against Littlejohns point then let us hear it:

The first comes from Walsall, where obese motorists are being issued with disabled parking badges so they don’t have to waddle too far from their cars to the nearest kebab shop.
The second hails from York, where people arrested for being drunk and disorderly are being sent on courses to boost their ‘self-esteem’.
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

While the first appears obviously silly, I'd be interested to know whether the second idea works in reducing drunkenness and disorder; if it does, why not?
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Easy. It doesn't matter if you're obese because of a rare medical condition, or because you ate yourself to that extreme state. The fact is, once you reach a certain level of obesity, you ARE disabled by any sensible definition - you cannot move around normally or perform normal actions. It's no good saying "it's your own fault" - that is true but you can't change the past, only deal with the current. Since we established in the other thread that the government should not be interfering in peoples' lives, preventing them from getting fat, what exactly would you have done with people who are genuinely so fat they cannot get around on their own? Telling them "sit on the sofa for 3 weeks without eating until you're thin enough to walk to the shop" is not medically valid even if it was humane.

If the NHS should treat smokers, saying the fat don't deserve medical treatment is hypocritical.
And you'll note smokers who develop emphysema and cannot breath properly ARE entitled to blue badges without quibble.

ps: GG, your "everyone hates fat people" rant is unmerited here. Again (as in the other thread) we're not talking people with a spare tyre rather than the washboard stomach magazines parade in front of us, but those fat enough to be in medical danger. That IS unequivocally bad.

All people who develop Emphysema and cannot breath properly are entitled to Blue badges, some of them may smoke, some may be fat some may be both.

There is a difference here because fat people can loose weight - can emphysema be cured?

They can lose weight, but the point is until they do, they are legitimately disabled.
