I'm 44 and still free pretty young. My body is simply not keeping up with the reality in my head.

I do free weights, swimming and skiing. When I first started doing weights (mainly to protect my neck from slipped disks - see the "worst pain" thread), after a couple of weeks the muscles in my arms, neck and shoulder had toned up wonderfully. As has already been said, being physically fit feels *good*.

Having said that, once you reach a certain age, if you wake up in the morning and something doesn't hurt - then you've died during the night.

I'm quite into kettlercise and cycling, but everything getting much more gentle.

I just can't push myself as hard as I used to. Should I be able to push myself, being only 37, or is 37 very nearly 40 and I should just accept it and STFU?

Obviously it's down to your genes, and there are some folks on here who are well into their 50s doing iron men comps, but I'm on about normal schmo's.

I'm only assuming you're winding down towards something like this 64 year old and you're disappointed you can no longer do a 3 hour marathon.

You're as old as the women you feel, just make sure you don't rest your newspaper on their head or you might end up with a slapping
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

I think the fact that you had a grown up son made me assume you were more mature in years. Which is very hypocritical, as mine's 28 and I'm 45.

Although HyperD was just laughing at me being old because apparently I groan every time I get out my chair.
