Much less glamorous I'm afraid. I have to drive back to the hotel after dinner so I have to go easy on the wine at dinner.

Some really odd people can drink a glass of wine and then stop. Some have the discipline to stop after two glasses.

Me - I discovered a few years ago that I only have the discipline to stop after zero glasses!

Some people, including myself, feel that a Barolo tastes better on the second day. Arguably so does Brunello, as can a Montalcino or even a good Chianti.

WHS. Many good wines taste better the next day.
I normally have no more than 2 glasses and save the rest for the next day.
Maybe it's because I've lived and travelled in other countries, but I don't understand why people in the UK have such a childish attitude to alcohol.
It's like a child with sweets. They've got to scoff the lot.
                  Hard Brexit now!

Do any restaurants use those vacuum corks? Have them at home and they work wonders if you want a glass of wine with dinner each day. Easily get 4-5 days out of a bottle of red, with very little degradation.

BBC News - Should there be a word for an 'almost alcoholic'?

                      Warning signs

In their book Almost Alcoholic, Robert Doyle and Joseph Nowinski identify five signs that someone may be an "almost alcoholic":
                      1. You continue to drink despite at least some negative consequences
                      2. You look forward to drinking.
                      3. You drink alone.
                      4. You sometimes drink in order to control emotional and/or physical symptoms.
                      5. You and your loved ones are suffering as a result of your drinking
