Wimp, I drove 200km home the other day through thick snow, nearly blizzard conditions and will probably be doing it again in the coming few weeks, a few times (*). Mind you WFH would be preferable




(* a couple of years ago driving to work, there was about 8 inches of snow and packed ice on the motorway, I drive along the A45 to work and going downhill into a valley onto a bridge, all the traffic stopped as a WVM had hit the central reservation. Braking didn't help too much and I started sliding towards a small car but luckily I did manage to stop in time. I then looked in my rear view mirror and saw a lorry trying to stop and suddenly the trailer swung out and he was coming sideways down the hill straight towards me. I kid you not, but I was extremely scared but luckily another lorry stopped his descent into me.)

Motorways or even A roads wouldn't be too bad, but ClientCo is in the middle of nowhere, a mile or so down a road called Narrow Lane. Gritter drivers probably don't even realise it's there, and definitely wouldn't treat it. Best hope is that one of the farmers has a snowplough and clears the road so he can get to the village a couple of miles away.

Wimp, I was warping to work across the galaxy when the ship entered an asteroid belt. I glanced of a rock the size of Texas and started tumbling towards an S3 planetoid when I managed to wrestle the craft into an orbit and slingshotted into my original trajectory at now twice the speed and arrived early enough to have a fry up and a coffee before starting work.

True story.

Seems his long range predictions are pretty accurate. Or so he claims. I guess he doesn't brag about the ones he got wrong.
