Whilst I regularly go a few days here and there without alcohol, the whole 'dry January' thing has had me obsessing night and day. This way alcoholics are born.Comment

For my sins I'm still battling on with 5:2 fasting therefore I already don't drink 2 days a week. I always feel marvellous the day after fasting, very fresh and detoxed in the morning while looking forward to whatever I want to eat that day and a pint or glass (or three) of red that evening.
But like you said, it's mainly calories for me. I probably drink 50 units o' booze a week = approx 5000 calories. No wonder the fasting diet isn't really working wonders for me
F*** it
EDIT: I'm considering allowing myself one day per week of drinking during January. The first one being today. I'm crawling the walls to go to the pub!Comment

Feckit, given that there's less than 1% chance of making it to the end of the month, I may as well fail early and then I can relax.
