      My Grandad god bless him, used to eat everything they had massive meals for breakfast lunch, dinner, he killed his own pigs on the kitchen table, no cuttin the fat off in them days, great big sunday dinners with the crackling and fat flowing out, the difference for him was he was always active so was never overweight

      What he was eating was natural no preservatives and processing, this is the issue, everything today is processed, lay of the processed and eat natural fats and sugar and take moderate exercise, simples

            Eh? I'm just repeating what the article says, not sure how that makes me a cretin, a cretin is someone who doesn't understand the dialectic process, much like yourself.

            I'm not convinced myself by the wheat thing, however I believe that a diet high in carbs is the cause of obesity, not the energy imbalance of too many calories in vs out.

                  Umm, well then can you explain why all sorts of athletes, ranging from speed athletes through strength athletes to endurance athletes are not fat? Is it perhaps a little bit to do with them burning off lots of carbohydrates, given that they nearly all eat lots of spuds/bread/rice/pasta?

                      Why do you believe that?

                      I was under the impression that it was a generally accepted fact that to lose weight one reduces calorific intake (or increases calorific burn but this has much less of an effect)?
