It used to be I had to get to the other side of my nearest town to get to a Lidl, so I never bothered (it was a pain to get to). A new one has just opened on my side of the town. At the moment my wife gets shopping delivered each week so that we can relax more at weekends, but once I'm benched at the end of the month I'll be trying it.
Lidl used to have a bit of a poor reputation, but I'm not snobbish about food - I just want it to be half-decent. I'm happy to pay a bit more if I have to, but I'm even happier to pay less.Comment

Our local Tesco is full of shell-suit clad chavs shouting at their feral spawn and scratching their cameltoes. Waitrose is full of old people who smell of wee and get in the way.
Local butcher for me. He knows a good sausage when he sees one.If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment

Anyone else in Deutschland shop in Rewe?
That's where much of our grub comes from. They now do home delivery which is rather exciting as the chap actually brings the food into the house rather than dumping it on the doorstep. Not to mention taking away the empty beer bottles. All that for €5. Now that's service."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". We're lucky (?) enough to have a very large Tesco, in fact it's the only proper supermarket on this side of town. This means not only does it have an excellent selection of wine, whisky and a decent deli counter, it is also not just full of oiks because the more up-market folks go there two. You're as likely to see a pregnant mum buying Strongbow in 3L bottles as a gaggle of students as a yummie mummy preparing for a wine & cheese evening.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
