i mean seriously food is food no matter where it is bought from

The collapse is going to be painful when it happens. What will Britons do when twelve varieties of liver Patti are replaced by a no-frills all in one Patti?

Or wait, is Waitrose one of the cheaper ones? I don't know the English shops well any more.
No Waitrose is supposed to be upmarket, but in reality the branded items are usually the same as Tesco. Where they make money is selling tempting up-market items next to the standard ones.

Oh, and when the tabloids scoffed at David Cameron when challenged on the price of a loaf of bread saying it was 'well north of £1' when he apparently should have said somewhere way under £1, actually its £1.45 in good old Waitrose.

I have fresh meat and veg delivered every week as well as having a graze box for lunch at work but am happy to shop in Lidl when I need to buy things from a supermarket.

            Do you mean pâté?

Lidl have a selection of 6 different game pâtés in little pots in one box. Very convenient and quite tasty. Testermog II does a good job of getting every last trace of the stuff out of the pots after we've finished.

Waitrose is also one of the few supermarkets where its cheaper to buy branded items than it is to buy own-brand. Thats just how far up their own arse they are.

I bet most of our parents would've preferred Lidl too. Frugality used to be seen as a positive attribute rather than something to be derogatory about.

What, a Warbuton's loaf is more expensive than Tesco?
I'll check that next time (except I don't know what it is in tesco)?
