Whereas the majority of educated English I know (i.e. not those from London) don't want to see a country divided but understand why it's happening. Disillusionment of the state. They can see it's broken & unfair. That's not a society many in Scotland want to be a part of.
Yes because most Scots living abroad went to look for new opportunities as they were not to be found at home. How awful it is to leave home & family in search of prospects new. But that's the Tory way.
yes I was in Scotland the other week - Glasgow, Edinburgh then Aberdeen - but apart from that and a few more cities there is fook all there...
Aye the nights are fair creeping in. Try visiting in the day time.
we did drive around in the day - was very nice if a little erm sparse....
got the chance to walk past my old Uni flat just near the meadows in Edinburgh mind you!
also just a tip Aberdeen on a Tuesday - just don't due to Oil rig crew changeovers etc hotels are a fortune - it costs us £150 per room in the Travel lodge and it was well a travel lodge! the park inn was £400 per night.
Surely not... unless they come to England to buy a ticket? or not?
But yes the Scots get huge benefits simply from the fact they do not have to support their own infrastrucutre as they are part of the larger UK infrastructure.
As soon as they have to pay for all that themselves then it become less attractive.
Believe it or not they do have tax centres in Scotland that administrate tax in Scotland.

same rooms are about £25 at the weekend.
I work in oil & gas, Aberdeen is a rip-off every time I visit. They know they can charge what they like during the week and still there is a shortage. Stayed in a travel lodge there for £140 for the night, toenails on the carpet, dirt in the toilet.
What saddens me most of all, despite all money Aberdeen brings in, it still is feels like a sink estate, unless you're in country. The money just flows out.
