Basically its up to people to skill up - there are jobs for those who do.
And yet I still see articles in the press about how its better not to go to university I guess its these morons who moan most about people stealing their jobs.
        No they aren't morons.

Most of the young people going to university are going to do soft subjects not sciences so it's right for the press to tell them not to go and do their art or social science degree as they won't earn more money from doing so.

Those who do sciences and get a decent first degree work out there are lots of jobs they can do without doing a Postgraduate degree. This means they don't do a Postgraduate degree especially if they are already in debt from doing their first degree.

There were companies and there still are - that sponsor students in the final year of their first degree and/or give them work placements.

Sue you can't argue with him, anyone who is 'less than him' is obviously a Cretin in his eyes. Arrogant twunts like that can't be taught compassion or the reality of life without a rich wife.

I think IT is at Bob saturation point now anyway, most places have outsourced the real donkey work and carry a substantial onshore presence. If you have survived this long you should be OK but you are fecked if you are coming out of uni wanting a gig in IT.

Yet people still wonder why we don't have enough decent star ups coming through from our technology hubs.

                Agree there.

I was talking about 4 years ago to a Chinese guy who ran my local takeaway. He asked me should his daughter go into IT as she had done a certain degree and couldn't get a job. He was willing to pay for her to retrain. I said categorically "No" and explained why.

The government's new schools IT policy is just hot air. If any kids are any good in it they will soon work out the only way they will get a starting job is to go abroad, and then they will see UK house prices and stay there.

They can do though it usually takes chronic illness.

You seem obsessed with my "rich wife" since you mention it ad nauseum.
Sorry to know your wife is poor and thick.
I guess we're both proof of the old adage: people marry people much like themselves.

But you're right about one thing: I don't know what's its like to have a sense of entitlement about the reality of life and assume that I am owed a living.
After all I've worked hard to attain my earning power, including going back to university to do a Masters in my 30s.
