The last time I drove in London I was actually shocked at the behaviour of drivers and cyclists it's just not the same up here in its intensity but fault on both sides. I live in the country so the roads although not too busy are basic and there is a sort of courtesy shown by all and that includes farmers in their tractors but it only takes one arsewipe to cause an incident.

The most common annoyances here are groups of cyclists on B roads taking up one lane where there's no opportunity to pass, cyclists singly or in groups who have no hi viz or lights in poor lighting or fog - don't get me started on that one. I'm only surprised there aren't more accidents. Incidentally the roads along here run parallel to one of the major cycle tracks running across this part of the country but seem to be ignored.

I'm pretty tolerant of cyclists, believing in live and let live but this cyclist tulip is starting to piss me off now and the cycling lobby is getting out of control. They get a few run over and now they want trucks banned from the roads at peak time and they are getting £1 billion spent on cycling.

WTF! A dozen people dead doesn't justify £1 billion investment! Compared to other road users, they contribute nothing to the exchequer for the privilege of using the roads (no tax disc/vehicle license, no petrol tax, no road tolls, no parking fees) and a significant minority of them are sanctimonious twats with no helmets, no lights and scant regard for road rules.

Why don't they try a few other measures to improve cycle safety.

Crack down cyclists riding dangerously, running red lights, riding the wrong way down one way streets or riding without lights at night. These are all offences that no motorised road user would get away with so why should cyclists? Let's get the cops to dish out some fines and put points on their licence and they will soon stop, why should there be one law for motorists and carte blanche for cyclists?

This will be self funding from fines and won't alienate the vast majority of cyclists because (as they keep telling us) it's the "tiny minority" who give cyclists a bad name by doing these things.

While we're at it, make helmets and high vis compulsory. They keep crying that people don't see them or they end up in hospital with head injuries after a minor spill. If you want to reduce the chance of splitting your head open then wear a helmet! Once again, most sensible cyclists do but there are a number of idiots who don't.

She has lost her job and been convicted so hopefully the cyclist will sue her.

I saw a very close one today, some old git in a row of parked cars was edging out very slowly then paused as he wasn't sure he would make it, then went for it. In the meantime a racing bike sped up and ignored the angle of the car, then got extremely vocal as the Rangerover pulled out and he had to swerve all over the road. I had some sympathy with him but then realised if I was in my car I would have waited for him to pull out. As he was an elderly driver he had started his move after looking in his mirror, but once he was at an angle his mirrors were no use and he wasn't flexible enough to twist around and see what was coming.

Cyclists seem to hit a cadence and be extremely reluctant to give it up, they need to consider other road users as well.
