Yeah. You could have lost £60.Originally posted by SimonMac View PostDebit card cloned but as I never keep any money in my personal account they only got £30, thank **** it wasn't the business account card they got hold off! What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions! -

I was the victim of identity theft earlier this year. Credit cards taken out in my name, store cards, mail order accounts. Taking months and months to sort out. And of course just when I started working in Germany and could have done with a line of credit to tide me over until the first invoice was paid (2 months wait, all flights and accommodation to find after being on the bench for 2 months)
Very frustrating and sorry to hear that bud. Glad the damage was minimal. I'd get your experian report just in case (to be fair supposed to do this every 6 months anyway).
Good luck

This might be a technicality but you didn't beat the fraudsters, they had £30 off you.

I had them take a couple of grand from my account once. I just phoned the bank, they put the money straight back and that was the last I heard of it.Originally posted by SimonMac View PostDebit card cloned but as I never keep any money in my personal account they only got £30, thank **** it wasn't the business account card they got hold off!Free advice and opinions - refunds are available if you are not 100% satisfied.Comment

with me I was in South Africa and they did a carbon form of my card at the Airport
(I think that was the only one) and then I apparently started buying gear all over Africa.
Money back in my account in a couple of days.
Chip & Pin does seem to cutting this type of fraud.Comment
