Former minister David Mellor was called a 'snob' today after he launched a foul-mouthed rant at a taxi driver over the quickest route home, calling him a 'smart-a**** little git' and a 'sweaty, stupid little s***'.
...
The 65-year-old barrister and radio presenter could be heard asking the taxi driver: 'Who are you to question me?' before yelling: 'I don't want to hear from you, shut the f*** up. Smart-a**** little b******.'
He also told the taxi driver he abused to 'get an education'
...
He said: 'I've been in the Cabinet, I'm an award-winning broadcaster, I'm a Queen's Counsel — you think that your experiences are anything compared to mine?'

All that seems to do is create a culture of wastefulness as well as bloated layers of middle management with their targets based culture which just seems to further compound the problems.
The National Health Service is facing a £2 billion hole in it's finances and is on the brink of disaster. Apparently there is no money available for this, as clearly demonstrated by the government's refusal to give nurses a measly 1% pay rise.
However...the proposed bill for the restoration of Westminster Palace is approximately £3 billion. How much would you bet that this money magically appears from somewhere despite being told "there's no money left"?

Why should we just pander to the "open cheque" politics of the NHS and just pay nurses more? Why dont we do what the socialist workers party want us to do and all of us work for the NHS?
Let us remember that nurses do not carry much responsibility and they are paid well enough as they are. A lot of them need a kick up the arse. The NHS needs reforming not feeding.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

I had a nurse friend, she said they were not permitted to cut patients nails because that was regarded as a surgical procedure so a doctor had to do it. There's a small example of a total waste of cash.
I agree re the repair work needing to be done. Can't have the place falling to pieces. A stitch in time and all that.... Although I bet 'in time' was 20 or 30 years ago.Comment
