    One quote caught my eye:
Both reactors in Dungeness power station's B units have been automatically shut down after power to the site was cut off. The site's own generators are providing power to the site
A power station needing power? I thought they generated power.

It's a design quirk. The powers that be thought that power should be piped in to keep the cooling circuits functional in the event of a power outage.

Of course not very eco friendly. Would be far better to just let the reactor cores melt down. If it's good enough for the Japanese!

A bit of a tree landed on my car overnight, not too much damage:

Luckily for you it wasn't a proper one.

Some people have been killed and injured by falling trees.

Trees uprooted and roads flooded as storm hits Plymouth | Plymouth Herald

Police were called to the Hoe after reports of something in the water, feared to be a person, but it turned out to be a stick.
A job for special branch perhaps?

4 deaths reported on the news. So it was worth worrying about.

OTOH roughly 5 people a day die on Britain's roads and that rarely makes the news.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Well you do hear it on the traffic reports i.e. air ambulance called out. There were a couple of those mentioned today.

This is utter rubbish from the BBC:

BBC - UK storm: Planes wobble on way into Heathrow

                      Compare this with:

Aborted landing (with touchdown) in crosswind - YouTube

                      or

Plane Avoids Disastrous Landing*Video - YouTube

edit: the last two videos are old and nothing to do with the current storm.
