What the US? Or the last Liebour government?

The last government was doing fine as according to the sh*tty credit rating agencies. Our credit was fine mainly due to the fact the Gorden Brown always stated we had not passed the tests to join the Euro so we controlled our own currency. The Southern European countries who joined the Euro lied to be able to join it.

Austerity is a Tory ideology policy more than anything else. If they were really serious about cutting the deficit they would cut current and near future pensioners pensions and pensioner benefits. This isn't going to happen any time soon....

    All political parties lie.

They can't do it because they know that such policy would be repealed by the other party and they will never get elected for next 100 years.

Apart from the fact OAPs are the only ones who vote.

It's easy to bash the long term unemployed as people who are in that category are:
          1. Likely to live in safe Labour seats
          2. Not vote anyway.

The entire point of the proposed boundary changes was to decrease the amount of safe Labour seats. One of the reasons I think Cameron is a idiot is he could have easily got it through if he did what the Lib Dems wanted with the Lords particularly as the Tories could have ended up running both houses.

Whilst I agree with your economic observation, I feel you have a touch of the partisanship about you Mr Fitz: to simply blame the egregious douchebag Osborne solely for the dire financial straits that this country has levied under the monocular disaster that was Gordon "I saved the world" Brown is perhaps missing the point.

I mean, the previous bunch of parasites under the Captain's steady Nokia chucking helm simply spunked our revenue into any fecking cause and benefited you and I by scrapping the dividend tax credit on our pensions.

Just one of many examples of his financial acumen.

So please, don't mock the afflicted.

Spoken with all the venom of a true ideologue.
I never had you down as a cretin before, but there's always time

If that occurs it wouldn't matter what Osborne did. I am, however, starting to have doubts about how strong this recovery is......

A mate is closing his business down as 2 big customers have decided to give up rather than continue as they are in the same boat.... Success breeds success, closures seems to breed additional closures.

It would seem to me business has less and less reason rather than more to invest. We watch the books month by month in close detail for a bit of good news, something that's shows we're on our merry way. The Tory's sell another bit of family sliver, example the post office, and leap for joy at the money made from the sale whilst at the same time it will almost certainly mean a loss of jobs & service quality. Yet I wonder if we were truly has an established recovery would we be so concerned with those monthly statistics?

All political parties lie, but only to supporters of other political parties. i suppose.

What pissed me off about Brown was the way he hocked the future. Pay rises for nurses are all well and good, I would like to see them drive round in Rolls Royces, but the pensions bill will haunt our kids for ever. The same with PFI.
Nick may be right about Osbourne, I am no expert, but Brown was acting with criminal negligence imo.
