While religion and poverty may exacerbate the human propensity for violence, we shouldn't feel too smug.
More people were killed in relatively rich and mostly Christian Europe due to violent war in the 20th century than anywhere else.
60 millionish (the size of the Uk population roughly) within living memory.
    Hard Brexit now!

I don't suppose the September 11 lot who learned to fly planes into a building were educationally subnormal.
OK, you get your smart ones for the big jobs but the ones that have been caught in the UK have generally been a bit thick, I don't think any have been up to the international mastermind level portrayed on spooks. Their defence often gets built around their stupidity and with that the viability of what they were trying to do. Many of the attacks in third world countries are done by kids and idiots injected with adrenaline and told to go and get their virgins.

The mumbai terrorists had it all wrong. They should have targeted businesses rather than tourism.

Anyway I have this great plan for a terrorist attack involving the dartford tunnels.

Or an EMP bomb in the city.

You're becoming increasingly deranged. And it's not wise to post stuff like that even for a joke.

Unfortunately, that's you leading with piss poor stats again; the only reason more were killed in the 20th century, was advances in war craft and weaponry. In 1700, it was harder to drop 100 * 500 tonnes of munitions in a single attack over heavily populated urban areas. In 1700, you didn't have machine guns and heavy artillery capable of scything down 100's of soldiers at a time.

Then there's the population increases in urban areas increasing over the ages too.

Groups IMHO should be inherently moral.

Now not sure how Atheists would combine to condemn Stalin's as they are not normally a group, I'm sure if you asked them individually the vast majority would see Stalin's behaviour as unacceptable in a civilised society.
Ah, there's the crux; Islam doesn't have a leader in the sense of the Pope leading Catholics or the Archbishop of Canterbury leading Anglicans. Muslims are not a group in the same sense as Catholics or Anglicans; it's a large grouping of faiths and sects with very diverse philosophies.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

That's true. Muslims probably kill more of each other than they kill non-Muslims.

                    Muslim Council of Britain ?

Yes they don't have the hierarchy but they are organised into groups for convenience.
