Is it possible to have a BTL in Scotland, for the sole purpose of having a Scottish address to allow free University places at a later date?

Would not do any good. You need to be on the electoral roll, it matters not how you're address is owned or rented out.
If it is a commercial let, that's different, you'll not be invited to put you details on the electoral roll. But you'll not have to pay council tax either.
I wonder what attracts thee?

Depends on how large you're family is. Also a 4 degree in England is 3 years in Scotland. It's a little more intense.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostSo moving to Scotland will save us 10s of 1000s in university fees?

But not all can hack it. As per my earlier post on another thread dropout rates can be high. It's not for everybody.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostSo your children qualify faster? that's just win win."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mine was a 4 year sandwich course - for a modular IT Eng degree it gives you more knowledge coverage and a 1 year internship in the middle that went straight into grad permie. Whats not to like.Originally posted by scooterscot View PostDepends on how large you're family is. Also a 4 degree in England is 3 years in Scotland. It's a little more intense.Comment
