a mate of mine is building a single storey extension to his kitchen (c4 metres high), the building inspector saw an oak tree "within 20 metres" and told him that the footings would have to go down below the depth of the tap-root - approximately 6 metres!!!! They met Henry the 8th, Cardinal Wolsey, The queens chambermaids and Jane Seymour. All in all a good day and paid for Avios.

So that's the Tower of London and Hampton Court done for free in the last month. Science or natural history museum next methinks.
