They met Henry the 8th, Cardinal Wolsey, The queens chambermaids and Jane Seymour. All in all a good day and paid for Avios.
So that's the Tower of London and Hampton Court done for free in the last month. Science or natural history museum next methinks.

I forgotten everything about Hampton Court
If the kids get bored take them to Bushy Park for a run around.

a mate of mine is building a single storey extension to his kitchen (c4 metres high), the building inspector saw an oak tree "within 20 metres" and told him that the footings would have to go down below the depth of the tap-root - approximately 6 metres!!!! Hampton Court was built on silt with no foundations other than "splayed brick", is immensely heavy, and has been standing for 500 years without any visible problems
The world's longest grape vine is at Hampton Court, it was planted nearly 250 years ago
The whole area was forest in Henry's day and he used to go hunting for deer in Bushy Park
The syphillis thing is now widely believed to be diabetes
He did suffer from gout however, which, believe me, is a bastard
...er I once took my cat for a five day river cruise, the first place it plucked up the courage to go ashore for a tulip was at Hampton Court (kids like stories about animals, right?)

Lovely walk on the north side of the Thames (to Kingston-upon-Thames).
Well, lovely pubs on that walk...

What are some amazing facts about old Henry I can amaze the kids with in the car on the way there?
And no I don't plan to explain what syphalis is.
