Seems to me reading the number in here 300 euro a quarter is more than reasonable.

In any case do any of us really care about such an amount that can be earned back in a few hours of service? No. Smeg I spend more than that on restaurants per month, HTH sas.

Beeb reporting policy on parade numbers, divide by three. Wonder what other statistics they applied that to!

The Midlothian police website reports 30,000 out on the streets for the parade, the Beeb reported 8000.

BBC News - Scottish independence: Yes campaigners rally in Edinburgh

Although saying all that I'm not one really for parades, I'd rather debate and balanced rhetoric.

Are we going to have to suffer a year of this tulip?
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

I take it you are not aware that Midlothian Police have not existed for some time.

BBC are using Police Scotland's numbers.

                  What "gaffe" would that be?

                  In his own words:

Electricity and Hot water: So not just hot water then hey old boy? You've also assumed no heating, assumed that it was a summer bill. Quarters run Jan-March, Apr-June, July-Sept and Oct - Dec in the main. So it most certainly wasn't a summer bill, and most likely, given his location, involved quite a bit of heating. No?

I seem to recall a very dull thread about cars where the word "stupid" was repeated a fair bit by yourself. Not to mention your earlier incarnation being banned for being overly obnoxious.
So looking at the facts, not attacking the man, rather a bit rich and hypocritical coming from you, what, old boy?
No, you seem to remember one side of an argument, which fits your brief; as I have said on many occasions, I don't start insulting people until they insult me, which I believe is a fair trade off.

You, meanwhile, seem to use the ad hominem as a stock argument, which is worrying. This is just another prime example. Wouldn't you say, old boy?

I don't think £260 a quarter for a sole supply of power on a flat of unknown bedrooms is too extreme; I am utterly convinced I have paid as much myself. It's uppy, but not extreme. However, you've used one part of it, even adding it to a signature, something 3 months ago you were calling childish, whilst yourself having bills of triple the size.

It's hard to discuss anything with you, as you approach it the wrong way, every time. You're, simply put, an odious prick.

FYI, I was banned for offering to go toe to toe with another member, not for being a rude, smug coont like you.

No - the organisers said 30,000, the police said 8000.

Since I was actually in Edinburgh this weekend (you know, the city you love so much that you can't stand to live here) I can categorically say that there were not 30,000 people marching through the city.
I was wandering around the castle and the city centre, then back towards St Andrews Square during the day, and it was busy (it was a Saturday), but I didn't even know that there was a parade going on. If there were 30,000 people around then they were being very quiet and walking on tiptoes.

The city I grew up in, yes... of course. Can't stand it. Awful place. That is of you're an engineer, you'll never find work that pays a dam. A banker however.

                      Should I vote no then?
