The best sort of intelligence for what purpose? And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014 -
Perhaps smart rather than clever? Clever enough to know they don't need to be clever?Originally posted by sasguru View PostIt describes the vast majority of people running corporations and firms, public and private, these days.
Which begs the question: is political skill the best sort of "intelligence" you can possess?Comment

How does saying I feel sorry for your kid have anything to do with stupidity. The fact I don't think private schools are a good idea (or actually that good most of the time) is not an intelligence issue its one of personal preference.Originally posted by sasguru View PostYou seem to want to broadcast your stupidity with every post. The clue is in your own statement. It is stupid to believe your personal preference and anecdotal experience represents objective truth. I may have to add you to my sig soon.Originally posted by eek View PostHow does saying I feel sorry for your kid have anything to do with stupidity. To become rich while not doing very much. This does reflect a higher intelligence, since implicitly you're accepting that you don't really matter in cosmic terms, but are merely enjoying your time on earth.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostThe best sort of intelligence for what purpose?Hard Brexit now!

If you assume that intelligent people want to not do very much. Many of them enjoy using their brains, rather than making money. Hence many smart people are academics.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

But if academics condemn their families to live on the pittances they earn purely because they have fun using their brains, maybe they're being selfish rather than smart or intelligent?Originally posted by d000hg View PostIf you assume that intelligent people want to not do very much.
