Yep, I can understand people choosing Android for more freedom, other phones for a bigger screen, or just anything else because they hate Apple with a passion (Norrahe), but to buy one and then describe it as a piece of garbage makes me wonder how his experience can be so different to mine.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostIndeed... to write off a (not so nowadays) industry leading phone as garbage does make you look like a bit of a dick.Comment

Battery life is dreadful. And I mean dreadful. Will be dead within 6 hours if I dare to use it too much.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostIndeed... to write off a (not so nowadays) industry leading phone as garbage does make you look like a bit of a dick.
Phone cuts out mid conversation with "Call Failed" displayed on the screen. If I try calling the person back, all I see is "call failed" for a few minutes. This happens every single day without fail. I once had to try calling my wife 17 times before I finally got through.
I'll get a text message flash up on the screen saying I have a voicemail, but my phone hasn't even rung.
have spoken to Orange, have had a new sim, account reset, phone restore - still happens. Orange deny its anything to do with them. A friend of mine on o2 also has these "call failed" issues on their 5 too, so not pointing the finger at Orange.
Apple have replaced the handset and still it happens.
Not saying I'm NOT a dick, but I didn't have any issues like this on the 4s so I have to assume the 5 has problems.
Problems for me anyway.Comment

Nah. Gold anodizing doesn't involve gold, it's a coloured oxide layer. The really classy people will still want real gold.Originally posted by amcdonald View PostThat bit is going to hurt someone I know, who gold plates iPhones as a nice little sidelineWhile you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. Are you holding the iPhone in the offficial Jobs sanctioned manner, if not that could be the issue ?Originally posted by rhubarb View PostBattery life is dreadful. And I mean dreadful. Will be dead within 6 hours if I dare to use it too much.

True but those buying an iPhone as bling are too stupid to know, and for at best 50ps worth of materials, add a couple of hundred on top to bling it is easy workOriginally posted by doodab View PostNah. But technically you're correct it's a coloured oxide layerDoing the needful since 1827Comment

I am OK with my iPhone 5, no plans to go to the 5s, like you I have dropped call issues, but this is in regular geographic locations so think its more likely to be network coverage, battery life is much better since moving to iOS7, can easily go a full day of use (and I mean heavy use, music/podcasts playing all day)Originally posted by rhubarb View PostBattery life is dreadful.
