I can't believe they're feeling the need to copy Nokia but... unless the idea is to sell a cheap gaudy phone so everyone views Nokia's as cheap and gaudy too.

It's the fastest with (arguably) the best screen and (presumably) just about the best camera, plus a couple of new gimmicks. So on paper it might be setting the pace, until the next top-end Android eclipses it again.

Also - is this it from Apple or is it still going on? New phones as expected, iOS7, iRadio... pretty dull. No refresh on the iPad mini? What about those new Mac Pros?

Yup but Apple brand used to be a class leader. It's now just another release like the rest. Just a matter to see who cocks up their turn to release a phone now and Apple are well in the thick of that.

Fastest processor and best screen won't matter to my kids who will want (and won't get) one. And probably to 80% of the smartphone population.

Nothing too interesting but then no phones released over the last couple of years have really interested me. That last time I saw something significant was the iPhone 4 when they switched to the Retina display. Now all the others have caught up and there's not much to choose between them. A lot of phones seem to be getting into the old PC trick of coming up with ever larger (but pointless) numbers to dazzle customers with, like 13 megapixel cameras on a phone with a tiny little sensor, or full HD screens, 1080p on a 5" screen. It's getting silly but the phones aren't getting better. I doubt I'll get the new iPhone, but I won't be getting an S4, One Max, or any of the others either.

Yep. Steve Jobs is dead. It's a ******* phone, the same as every other phone, all of the other tulip is the same old other tulip. There will not be anything exciting for a while, and when it comes it won't come from them.
