Best cities in the world to live in

Agreed. Visited Vienna earlier this year. The old city centre is beautiful, but stray far enough and it becomes strip bars & edgy. In it's defence it is an affordable city to live in whilst allowing access to some wonderful history & architecture."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark Twain -
They only put it in there because they thought Vienna was another city in Australia which is apparently the best country in the world at the moment.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostWell, just looked at it and have to say, what a big bag of tulip. Vienna? Some parts are nice but a lot is tulipe.
Except for all the snakes and spiders and crocs.
And Aussies....

All new world cities with the exception of 2.
A bit sterile and clinical for my liking. Plus the fact who would want to live in Australia? There's nowhere else to go that's different for a weekend other than somewhere else in Australia. It would drive me mad. In Europe, you can hop on a plane and in an hour or two be in a completely different culture rich in history each weekend. I like that.
Best city I ever lived in? Between Rio de Janeiro (but it wouldn't make this list because of the crime), Naples and Vitoria. London wouldn't make my top 10 frankly but Oxford might just squeeze in there.Comment

From this I conclude two things.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostAustralian cities are cess-pits of political correctness and self hating liberal angst. I have honestly never met a worse bunch of sh!t-licking, half @rsed, self-obsessed, anus faced jerk offs.
In the outback you will meet the best people on the planet. Like Canadians but with sand

First, you are attracting low calibre Aussies. That is because you are low calibre. You wouldnt get a look-in at the decent stuff sporting a scouse accent like you do. Too scary.
Second, you like the outback people because they don't challenge you. You are a low achiever happy to stay in his hometown , except to take the wife on an annual trip round the ex-colonies.
I bet you bought loads of fags in duty free didn't you, you little scratter.Comment

WGAS? Like all people who slag off London, you're either too ignorant about the good bits or too poor to take advantage of it, or both. Other cities are kinder to mediocrities.Originally posted by Freaki Li Cuatre View PostLondon wouldn't make my top 10 frankly .Last edited by sasguru; 29 August 2013, 08:06.Hard Brexit now!

London is undoubtedly one of the best cities in the world, it is one of the most culturally diverse cities i have ever visited (although i am not that well traveled), it has everything I would ever want from a city, great restaurants, museums, galleries, some of the best shopping in Europe, some of the best sports teams in the world.
I think a lot of people reading (and possibly writing) articles like this are depressed about their miserable existence so read it as "Which city would i move to to make myself happy?" when in reality they would be miserable wherever they are.Comment

A scouser actually buying something? Your stereotypes are incomplete there.Originally posted by aussielong View PostFrom this I conclude two things.

My wife used to work an Churchill's retirement home, it was full lecherous old farts sat in their own excrement.Originally posted by Churchill View PostScience isn't about why, it's about why not.
