These articles are bollocks. They are put together by people who haven't actually lived in most of the places they are talking about for any length of time.

London is one of the great cities of the world and has loads of great stuff in it however the vast majority of London is overpriced, overcrowded, dirty and generally a bit tulipe. It's also full of arseholes. So it's not actually that great a place to live & work day to day.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

I think a lot of people reading (and possibly writing) articles like this are depressed about their miserable existence so read it as "Which city would i move to to make myself happy?" when in reality they would be miserable wherever they are.
Quite true, I think London is an amazing city and try to visit and do as much possible there whenever I can. If I ever had the chance to live in London, depending upon area naturally, I would jump at the chance. I've visited many cities in the world and the only one that is similar is NewYork. Everyone goes on about Berlin (which seems to be the 'in' city now), and yes its not bad, but not a patch on London.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

You obviously have a different experience from me. You need to guard against the usual CUK IT geek flaw, generalising from your anecdotal experience. Perhaps you need to change jobs*/areas.

*I've worked in Switzerland, Germany and England and for clients in France and Eastern Europe - I would say there are definitely more arseholes in Switzerland (French speaking area) and France, maybe about the same or fewer in Germany.

Yes, in Edinburgh, which is a beautiful city, and where I'd live if I ever move back.

Ok - well maybe it's not so bad then. Still though that little feckin' Island is far away from any Harvey Nicks

I rest my case. I didn't want to tar all Londoners with the same brush but my experiences of the place are that there are a lot of supercilious twits like you. To be fair, most of these people are not native Londoners but people who, upon arriving in the capital, suddenly regard themselves as being urbane and chic just by dint of living there.

I rest my case. A provincial who, rather than face facts, calls people supercilious. Like I said London is not kind to mediocrities, other cities will give you a better living if you're middle of the road. If you can cope at the highest level though, London offers more than most cities.

PS I was born in London and have lived and worked here all my life apart from stints in Basle, Frankfurt, Berlin and Sheffield. So I do have some benchmarks.
