    The UK must say no.

Britain to be roped into EU rescue aid for Greece - Telegraph

Clearly totally ridiculous. UK does not have the money. And its propping up an evil regime that is causing suffering to millions across Southern Europe via depression.

I totally agree we shouldn't help a bailout Brillo. This is a eurozone problem.

Who are you to be talking about other people being propped up?
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

The evil regime is the Euro.

When you are in a union you don't walk away when you have to contribute to help a fellow member as agreed when signing up. U.K. seems to want to take all the benefits from being in the EU but none of the responsibilities.

There is a difference between EU and Eurozone.

So just to be clear, "bailing out" other EU member countries is a no from the UK point of view, what about when the UK bubble bursts and they are in need of bailing out?

This will not happen because house prices will always rise and there is an unlimited supply of cheap credit.

The current bail outs that have been happening in Europe have been due to the fact that the Eurozone member countries are using a single currency which they have no individual control over. If the UK were faced with similar issues then the simplest possible solution would be to devalue the currency. This was the suggestion being bandied about for the other countries (mostly Greece) - leave the Euro and devalue your currency.

This is also the main argument against the UK getting involved in a bail out. We are not in the Euro, so why should we support countries that are, and which now have no control over their own monetary policy? It would be akin to asking the UK to bail out States within the US.
