Just think of it as aid, much like those millions going to fund the Nigerian and Indian space programs :-)

Clearly totally ridiculous. UK does not have the money.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

If Greece goes belly up, then there could be a domino effect across Southern Europe, with Portugal, Spain and Italy at risk. If those countries were to go down we could be looking at the breakdown of the Eurozone, the ramifications of that don't bear thinking about. Let's just say there would be a lot fewer contract roles around for some time. So from a totally selfish POV I say keep the bailouts going as long as needed.

and what are those benefits exactly?Originally posted by russell View PostWhen you are in a union you don't walk away when you have to contribute to help a fellow member as agreed when signing up. U.K. seems to want to take all the benefits from being in the EU but none of the responsibilities.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

If there were no benefits at all, we wouldn't be a member and wouldn't be paying all that money every year. Cameron could get good public support by leaving but doesn't seem very keen so must see a benefit.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View Postand what are those benefits exactly?Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

We're not a member of the Eurozone, which is what this is discussing.Originally posted by d000hg View PostIf there were no benefits at all, we wouldn't be a member and wouldn't be paying all that money every year. Being a member of the EU comes with a different set of benefits and responsibilities.

I don't really think you get to decide what we're discussing. You might be only thinking of one angle, others: others.Originally posted by Ticktock View PostWe're not a member of the Eurozone, which is what this is discussing.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
