The cause has always been corrupt and inept government. Bailouts are the result.
Having control of the currency does not remove the corruption. In UK parliament you can buy your own MP for the right price. We're right up there with Italy & Spain when it comes to scandal.

The bail-out is there to protect the interests of creditor banks - so in this case Greece can keep paying back borrowed money to banks in other countries. UK banks, in particular RBS, were exposed to Greek debt.
If Greece were allowed to default completely, it would have a devastating effect on banks elsewhere, including the UK.Speaking gibberish on internet talkboards since last Michaelmas. Plus here on TwitterComment

A number of Tory MP's have been caught already lobbying for businesses over the years, time and time again."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark TwainComment

Politician -
1. A person who practices politics. "Politics" is derived from the words "poly" meaning "many", and "tics" meaning "blood-sucking parasites."
2. One who has perfected the art of lying.
3. Person who so desires power that they have lost all notion of morality and will now do or say anything to acquire more power.
4. Are you a politician asking what your country can do for you or a zealous one asking what you can do for your country? If you are the first, then you are a parasite; if the second, then you are an oasis in the desert.
5. "A politician is someone who taxes the minority to buy the votes of the majority and thereby perpetuate himself in office."“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment
