I didn't clock / think about the date when I read this post. 2nd line on Wikipedia really got me though:

Watched Sightseers which was a bit strange but rather enjoyable in some ways, one of those slightly off-beat UK black comedies

Followed by Dead in Tombstone as Frau D. is a bit of a Danny Trejo fan. Was okay but have seen better
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2

Given that CWACOM I was mediocre, it took some persuading for me to take my 9 and 12 year olds to see Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2.

It was very good, best kids film for a couple of years, laugh out loud funny and a first rate parody of Apple.

Alpha Papa was good as well, but not really for kids, even mine.

Watched Track 29 (1988) in my lodgings last night, and it was amazing.

I'd had it kicking around for a while, but never watched it until now as I didn't like the sound of the incest references on the cover. But without wanting to give anything away, that is misleading.

Screenplay was by Dennis Potter, and it starred among others Theresa Russell, Gary Oldman, and Christopher Lloyd. Highly recommended.

Really? Blimey, IMDB isn't that complimentary.

Looks like one to torrent try before you buy

A low IMDB score simply indicates a film that doesn't appeal to American weanies (in age and/or intellect), and can be highly misleading, although admittedly not always.

Too much reliance on it means you miss many gems, or at least enjoyable films, such as Escort Girls (1975) (4.5) or Amsterdam Heavy (2011) (2.7)

OK, granted the second won't win any acting Oscars, but it isn't _that_ bad, in fact quite an engaging action film with a plausible and original plot, and the 2.7 score is absurdly misleading IMHO.

Also, Escort Girls is a real gem. I'd had it floating about for a while but, assuming it was one of those silly jaunty tongue-in-cheek '70s porn-lite films put off watching it. In the event though it was an excellent poignant film and not at all how I'd imagined it would be.
