I used to love the Double Deckers. The black kid in the show was Brindsley(?) Ford who went on to be lead singer of Aswad. I guess you knew that though....

I used to love Roots. The the young Kunte Kinte (black kid didn't seem specific enough) was LeVar Burton who went on to be Geordi La Forge in Star Trek TNG. I guess you knew that though....
