      You can then buy 2 smaller properties (in slightly worse areas) that both can support the kids, your one room will mean you can't provide suitable accommodation for your kids to visit. One assumes you had a large house? You of course will lose more out of this to make sure your family are kept the best you can in the circumstances.

      Make sure you make this very reasonable offer in writing!

              I wish it was so simple. Only a medium size house is an expensive area - moving to 2 smaller properties means taking kids out of school. Nevertheless house is on the market and financial settlement negotiations through solicitors will start prior to court date in Nov.
