Some can, some can't. It depends when the damage was done and how bad it was. If someone had a normal upbringing until a reasonable age and left the path of righteousness in their teens or later they can likely be rehabilitated. If they were abused from early childhood and only ever learned mistrust and hatred the chances are they are beyond salvation.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

      CAN

I believe in this situation he can't be, the damage is too great, as I said its a pity but work needed to start before they crossed the line so dramatically.

I'm all for rehabilitation but not in Venables case, I believe his sickness can only be managed.

Whatever was wrong in the first place would not be fixed by being locked up for 15 years with a bunch of pinko liberal social workers and head shrinkers.

Maybe they can be fixed maybe they can't. But why should society take that chance. Lock em up I say!

would that be your suggestion about what I would like? I wasn't going to bother replying as I have made my feelings clear earlier.

I am fine with the current set up where minors are treated differently and mindful of their age where experts decide their culpability, I have never suggested they should be tried as adults, however Venables was most definitely an adult on his second offence and was involved in something that builds on his previous offence.

As I said Thompson is apparently behaving himself, Venables seems a lost cause.

My point about 2 & 7 year olds was that children do know what is wrong. The fact these children stepped over such a line does mean they did so consciously.

Most adults don't plan 10 years ahead why would I expect children to do so?

The idea is you try to fix them while they are held apart from society, to reduce the risk.

But if they are locked up, they are still a risk to the other prisoners

any of you considered the fact that those two boys were put it to it by more responsible adults as a way of getting back at the Bulger family over some petty dispute?

Also by the way the painted him and stuck batteries up his a**e - there is no way in mind kids of ten would consider doing that without some form of instruction.

either way Venables imho is a danger to society

I've gone all these years without knowing all the details. Now I just feel like weeping.

So did you spend your early childhood on snuff move sets?
