sharing tax allowances would encourage more stay at home mothers. I would have made it contingent on children, school age children and the main earner can use the spouses tax allowance (up to higher rate say).
If you make it just on Marriage its just going to push up house prices.

Sure you pay a salary + divi up to the higher rate threshold, but (assuming your Ltd is making more) how do you get the rest out of the company without having to pay higher rate marginal tax on whatever method you use to do this (such as a higher dividend)?
