This wouldn't have happened at Yeadon Airport.

Shame it wasn't head on, looked like a hell of lot of yaw on that.
Gotta wonder why someone would stand there in a wind they so strong they can't hold the camera steady and film planes? Some sicko looking for a crash vid?'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

I have flown a lot, and it still scares me, but you have to get philosophical about it all.
One of my brothers hasn't flown since the 70's. We had a bad flight to Singapore, and he, literally, had to be dragged onto a plane to fly us all back. That wasn't a dandy flight either, and he hasn't flown since.
I think once you've had a properly tulipty flight, a few bumps and drops doesn't seem that scary after all. I had that flight coming back from St Lucia in the 90's, and I realised why the pope kissed the ground when he got out of an aeroplane. The cleaners were busy on the seats of that plane I can assure you.Comment

The only thing I've been scared of when flying is not waking up when the trolley comes round with coffees!
I regularly fall asleep when landing and I've slept through a few take offs as wellCoffee's for closersComment

Anyone been to Funchal airport. Now that's a ride!McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

I had a gig in Yeadon for a couple of months the other year. There was a spec at the Premier Inn where you could see the tailfins of arriving or departing planes through a gap between nearby houses. Tried to get a photo, but IIRC I never got a decent one, mainly because I wasn't trying that hard.
The New Inn on Cemetery Road is - or was - a good pub
