      Audi A3 Sports Turbo.

Has leather seats and climate control. The envious looks I get come from bus passengers in London crammed in like cattle in 52 C (apparant) heat with no ventilation.

Costs a fortune to park for work in town, but on days like these it's worth every penny

All of you car buffs have small penises. It's an established fact.

            Oi! I resemble that remark!

I drive a modified Supra MKIV Twin Turbo Targa. The wife's taken it down the pub today whilst I'm at work.

                Citroen C3

As part of the same announcement where he threatened £25 congestion charges for vehicles in the top CO2 band, Ken said he would give discounts to vehicles in band B (which contains the Toyota Prius, which is currently exempt.)

If I were in the market for a car I would therefore consider a Citroen C3 1.4HDI sens-o-something. It has lower emissions than a Prius, is a clutchless manual with gearchange via paddles or stick, there is also a button to invoke a psuedo-automatic mode. Think it can currently be had with air-con for less than 10K new. It also has a feature that switches the engine off whenever the car is stationary for a moment. I think it does 57mpg on urban cycle.

A less eccentric choice for congestion charge avoiders would be a Renault Megane 1.4 litre 106bhp diesel manual.

My Rover is the first car I've had with a computer, so I am now aware of the sad fact that over the 300 commuting miles of my working week, I average 20mph. So there's not much point in owning a fast car. (The Rover is extremely nice to be in though, if you are going to be stuck in a jam, and the radiator fan isn't broken.)

Although I've not been faster than 165mph (sadly, the wife woke up from her snooze as I surreptitiously planted the loud pedal while giving a 911 the good news on the autobahns near Heidelberg), I've seen a video of two chaps in a Tuscan going through a tunnel in France at 195mph... the thing that struck me the most was the swiftness of the speedo as it rocketed from 110 to 195mph.
To be honest with you if I was going for a real speed mobile I think I would look at the Aston DB9 rather than messing about with a Merc - nice cars but their little computer brains don't take a lot of abuse at the best of times! Course what you really want is the 1000bhp Bugati

I currently have a Jaguar S-Type nice for longer journeys, and the onboard SAT NAV is nice is it does not clog up the dash. Taken it to 175mph in France, got caught when I was slowing down, clocked at 135mph

I also have a Mazda MX-5 convertable, very nice in this weather. Sticks to the corners like glue, so I now vary my route to this gig to go round the country lanes.....I will have an accident on day, but heck I'll just buy a new one!!

Questions to all - looking to change the Mazda - but what do people recomend, I need somthing quick of the mark, but that can corner very well at speed....
