As it happens, was looking at farms in Somerset last night when you posted this ;-)
    This one's in Devon!

Good on you, seem to be some bargains around. This one needs some money spent on it, to make it interesting, as farmers seem, really, genuinely, not to GAS where it comes to what they have in their house, nor what it looks like. Probably why they're rich I guess.

    Good luck.

But really hard work, I'd imagine.
Naaah not if you have kids...you can outsource all the work to your band of slave labourers, like my folks did. He would merrily bugger off out to the North Sea leaving me to feed and clean up the sh1t from the ever increasing collection of animals. My mum would work in her shop and expect the house to be cleaned and the tea on when she got home.

We moved to a farm when I was 10, mainly because me and my sister both had a horse each. So my dad bought a farm to keep them on. Then he got a load of bullocks that were so young, to get them to drink the milk out of the bucket you had to put your finger into their mouths and then put it into the milk. Totally hand reared. We kept them for a few years, probably about 3, I can't remember. All of them had names and one in particular, Greedy was was like a big dog. If you were in one of the fields he'd come over and start nudging you. You could sit on his back and he'd plod about with you on him. Then we ate him and he was lovely! And we ate all of his mates also. We ate a lot of beef that year! In the freezer we had bags of beef with the name of the cut and which of the 'pets' it came from. We also latched onto a plan regarding another farmers sheep. We only had a tiny place and one of the fields was pretty much set aside for growing grass to bale and feed the cows and horses through the winter. There was a farmer in the area who had 1500 acres and he would just let his sheep roam about eating grass of everybodies fields. We used to pen them up and flog them back to him....strangely he never got any lambs back! But our lamb consumption went through the roof. At one point we had over 200 piglets as well as 10 chickens and 2 goats and I had to feed, clean up after and milk (where applicable) them.

The other thing about living on a farm is it gives your folks the best excuse in not ever taking a holiday. I didn't go on holiday from the age of 10 until i went away with my wife when I was 26
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

      I preferred version 1!

They get cheaper and more plentiful from Wiltshire downwards. Quite fancy the 20 miles around Trowbridge as a starting point. Westbury has a few but then again Westbury is a tuliphole. Then moving from Frome downwards or around there. Personally I wouldn't do Devon for personal reasons.

A place to do up. Maybe a number of outbuildings to do up for holiday lets & storage for importing that's what I'm after. But at least 12-24 months off a move yet.

Let us know when you're inviting Shauny to the housewarming and we'll come down and bring you some six fingered gloves.

I'm from Wiltshire, sort of, so there's always been a warm feeling about moving there, but then I'd be near family, and that isn't a good look in any view.

          Workshop full of them gloves.

It already has one cottage/annexe where the chaps parents lived.

I saw my first stripper in the old cinema in Westbury. Aged 16. Never had anything but fond memories of the place

Come down, you can help kill the turkeys. Horrible bastards.

Of course that's pretty much the end of your contracting career. It's in the middle of nowhere. Theres no work down there and your neighbours think the highlight of the year is the Summer Barn dance at Blackawton.
Don't worry, it's no more real than Sas' £1000+/day maths consultancy work so it won't get in the way of his £150/day contract work.

All lies. You'll be telling us next that Dimprawn isn't a rich, goodlooking gold trader, AtW isn't on the squirrel sex offenders register & that the Administrator does have a string of successful internet websites aimed at Contractors.

I'm not listening. La la la la la.

Oh dear d000hg, envy, and jealousy, is such a crap look on a Christian. I would have thought it wouldn’t bother you
