My other half is fine with it and thinks I'm quite brave to not have the 'job security' of a permie. He doesn't do taking risks at all whereas if I don't have that 'oh sh!t have I made the right decision' feeling on a regular basis, I don't feel alive!

Did you see the Bracknell Standard Newspaper ?
Picture of your shop and a sad star letter bemoaning your closure. Good point from the letter though.
In the picture you can actually see a customer
I did indeed see that star letter is was prompted by the front page of the newspaper the week before as well.

        Headline News

It was to prompt some action from the landlords but there was none. In fact they have been so blase about the whole thing they havent even asked for a set of keys back as they reckon their old ones will work - which they wont as the locks were changed.

Bracknell is a bit of a ghost town these days. My inlaws live there and there is no work available for them at all as the big companies are all kicking out manual labour staff at the moment. It's another one of those areas which will survive on child benefit.

                interesting thread for a change...

My other half to whom I am to be wed in just over a week doesn't like the idea of me working away so much..

I have been in london for 4 months and have another 6 to go....i have wangled 2 days a week at home from august onwards. My partner is still a little disappointed. I can see her point , she wants to be with me, but i am focussing on the long term gain short term pain aspect..

What an absolute PANTS thread...."My wife doesn't understand how I work"?

God help you all. You "under the thumb" types make me puke!

How would the "Little lady" react if you were sat on your arse in front of the telly in that egg stained string vest all day?

Don't sweat it. In a couple of years time she'll be more than happy for you to work away all week and you'll be just as happy to do so.
