It sounds like you were hitting back because they badmouthed you? No doubt they were wrong to badmouth you though eh?

Ooooops! Maybe I should have thanked them for bad-mouthing me and lying about delivering?!?!
You make it sound like you're stooping to their level though, so rather than being better than them, you're just the same.

Yeah right. I doubt your client will be renewing you as you have just shown yourself up to be a petty spiteful tosspot.

          +1.

This is not something you need to boost about. Just be satisfied with revenge quietly served cold.

Not so much boasting, just wondering what others would have done. Notice I won't name anyone. More purely by chance then anything else that they cropped up. Had never really expected to hear about them again.

Someone had a severe 'sense of humour failure' on facebook when I was talking to her husband and being my witty self.

She went balistic and started swearing and name calling, I explained the misunderstanding and how she had slightly misread the previous statements. She simply continued being abusive and demanded to know who I was and how I even knew her husband.

I explained that I was the guy currently placing an order with her, through her husband, for a £275 jacket and that she could consider the order cancelled and business from myself, my group and anyone who asks about my wonderful new jacket in the future would now be given to her competition.

She became very apologetic but it was too late.

The one thing you have to remember is to never badmouth someone when you don't have the full picture.

A design agency for an old client co was offered a spec to redesign an existing site. Their salesman badmouthed the previous design not realising that the main reason we were asking them was because the designer of the old site had moved to that agency.

They let the saleman go one for ten minutes before asking how Mark was at which point he rapidly tried to backtrack.

Excellent. I love a good grudge.

                      Bit of background:

Person in question lied to client and failed to deliver. Was terminated and escorted off the premises by the Head of Dept. Subsequently made allegations against me / the project / threatened the client in writing. Now wanting to work at current client.

Current client asked my opinion of them. I told them what happened and gave them an honest opinion. Should I have lied???

And yes, I did enjoy the payback.
