You will need to do more than a bit of blagging to cover up your 100% dimwittedness though. And thus far you are making a right pig's ear of disguising it, you minceheaded moron.

Well, I might be all of that fat boy, but I'll never be a jock, and there's no cure for that level of stupidity

There is no "might" about it.

Well it is ironic the projection you display, or is it the irony you project. For I'm not at all a repetitive bore with a few tropes I repeat like a demented Tourette's sufferer and a compulsive obsessive urge always to have the last word. No siree. For my mental health is top notch. Oh, the projective irony, son.

Ah you see I thought you might say the UK but then I gave you the benefit of the doubt.

Looking at the bigger picture the UK government is actually very competent in the vast majority of the activities that it carries out. The amount of waste is probably only a few %. Of course that's not to say that there's stuff that can be done better and stuff that the government does that it arguably shouldn't.

As I said before I recently came back from a stint in West Africa ( Angola ) and until you have been to a place like that you don't really know what an incompetent, wasteful corrupt government is.

The fact is that the majority of the bureaucracy in the UK "just works" and all though it can be frustrating to deal with it sometimes if we removed most of it all our lives would be much poorer. Again that's not to say its perfect. Far from it. Things can and should always be improved.

True Story : I was looking out of the 4th floor window of the office I was in Luanda ( the capital of Angola ) when I saw someone struck off their motorbike ( nobody wears crash helmets, a lot wear horse ridding hats! Of course there's no enforcement of any safety rules). The traffic in Luanda is horrendous ( none of the traffic lights work, there is no traffic control ). Pretty soon a big crowd gathered around him and I hoped that an ambulance would come.

After about 10 minutes an ambulance appeared, lights flashing, of course it sped straight past him. About 10 - 15 minutes after that a private hire car pulled up and he was bundled inside leaving just a blood stain on the road.

That is life in a country with a weak and wasteful government. Wastes lives, wastes resources.

After that experience I changed my view on the UK government and UK in general.

History is your area... what Christianity teaches is mine. I'll let NAT comment on the two intersecting...

He had no income to start with. Probably the Christian perspective is that a Christian should be squeaky clean in such things and not use those schemes, but the entire of this thread is about retrospective legislation which is clearly immoral.

No it isn't. My morality is based on my religion.
Are you saying all retrospective legislation is immoral by virtue of its retrospective nature?

For now, yes. I might change my mind later and edit this.

                    If that is true then:

-He must find the justification for the Iraq war immoral too (retrospectively disallowing WMD)

-The trial and subsequent cricification of Jesus was perfectly valid for retrospectively examining this is obviously wrong.

-Any murder verdict must stand as any retrial would be retrospectively exaimining if any offence was commited.

Retrospective legislation to make it illegal under UK law to travel overseas to have sex with children?
