They don't need to rule themselves as they're quite happy having London do that job for them. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014 -
Hang on - have Scotland officially recognised these Island's right to self determine?Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostBut the SNP have already acknowledged the rights off the islands to opt out.
This Scottish independence scheme is going to be real comedy at this rate.

The rights to oil will decide, as I inferred earlier.
Failing that, it won't happen, or if by some fluke it does, they're fecked due to 100% renewables as is the SNP diktat. If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment

Angus MacNeil, the SNP’s rural affairs spokesman, told the BBC that both Shetland and Orkney would be permitted to remain part of the UK regardless of the referendum result “if there was a big enough drive for self-determination” among their residents.Originally posted by MyUserName View PostHang on - have Scotland officially recognised these Island's right to self determine?

Therein lies the problem. The word apathetic was invented for Shetlanders..........shortly after the word pathetic.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View Post[I]Angus MacNeil, the SNP’s rural affairs spokesman, told the BBC that both Shetland and Orkney would be permitted to remain part of the UK regardless of the referendum result “if there was a big enough drive for self-determination” among their residents.

Maybe...why not? Or perhaps they'll no longer be valid, as new ones are issued for England and Wales and whatever that lot in Ireland choose to be.Originally posted by proggy View PostBut I have a British passport you twit!

You are British because Scotland is part of the UK. If it leaves you won't be British anymore, you'll be Scottish. Giving up British citizenship is part and parcel of what you are voting for. There will of course be cases of dual nationality where people have an English parent etcOriginally posted by proggy View PostBut I have a British passport you twit!
