Priest who crucified nun unrepentant

A ROMANIAN Orthodox priest who ordered the crucifixion of a young nun because she was "possessed by the devil" and now faces murder charges was unrepentant today after he celebrated a funeral mass.

"God has performed a miracle for her, finally Irina is delivered from evil," Father Daniel, 29, the superior of the Holy Trinity monastery in north-eastern Romania, said.

He insisted that from the religious point of view, the crucifixion of Maricica Irina Cornici, 23, was "entirely justified", but admitted that he faced excommunication as well as prosecution, and was seeking a "good lawyer".

Sister Cornici was found dead on Thursday, gagged and chained to a cross after fellow nuns called an ambulance, according to police, who said she had entered the monastery just three months before, after visiting a friend who was a nun there.

Mihaela Straub, spokeswoman for the police in the province of Vaslui, said Father Daniel and four other nuns had claimed she was possessed and should be exorcised.

Before being crucified she had been kept shut up for several days, her hands and feet tied and without food or drink.

Vitalie Danciu, the superior of a nearby monastery at Golia, called the crucifixion "inexcusable", but a spokesman for the Orthodox patriarchate in Bucharest refused to condemn it.

"I don't know what this young woman did," Bogdan Teleanu said.

The French Revoluton - Catholics. Not too many athiests around in those days.

Mao Tse Tung, Stalin - Communists - a quasi religion, based upon blind faith. Like most religions proven to be false when applied to the real world. The brutality of Russia is rooted in its dark history of Orthodox Christianity. Russians worshiped Stalin as a God even while he was killing them by the millions.

Hilter - A catholic who also believed in sprituality and took advice of quack fortune tellers. Nazism drew a lot of its power from the symbolism of the German folk religions. Nazi rallies were religious events of mass hysteria, no different from a Billy Graham rally. Some Germans actually worshiped Hitler. He took the place of a god for them..

Rationality is thinking for yourself. Not following a silly ideology whether it be Chistianity, Islam, Communism, Confucionism, Nazism etc.

You are the most bigoted person on this board. You stupid posts on Africa suggest a level of bigotry which should earn you kudos at your next Combat 18 get together. Its like saying because a tribe in Albania perform ritual sacrifices therefore all white Europeans are savages. This is the true face of atheism - bigotry to anyone who does not share your views, colour, wealth etc. Hitler was an atheist or as academia describes a secular humanist. So was Pol Pot - Stalin etc. Atheism unchecked leads to millions dead. And the most tragic thing there is no such thing as a sincere atheist. You can be a sincere agnostic and thats a position I can respect,but an atheist? No chance. You presume you know it all - no you don't you are just an ignorant bigot.

The Spanish inquisitors were also very sincere as they tortured innocent people who they suspected of being witches, jews or heretics.

I suspect that you would like to kill me because I have a different point of view to you. Like the regious freak that killed John Lennon because he made a joke about being more famous than Jesus Christ.

My posts may be stupid but the sad thing is that they are true. They are following a theme about Africa at the moment because we are all being asked to donate to Africa and to feel guilty about all the famine and bloodshed down there.

A lot of the hunger and poverty in Africa could be solved by not having religious nutters like the Pope banning contraception.

You religious freaks should all be in a loony bin or a circus sideshow where you can't cause any damage to normal people.
