To pretend all British industry was feckless tulipe is ingenuous, as SAS would say look at GERMANY, while Thatcher was dismantleing our export capability with no real replacement, Germany was investing in technical education and subsidising industry. Last year Germany's exports were greater than our national debt, and that's even after we bailed out the banking industry. The legacy is one of failure.

King Charles II parliament ordered the disinterment of Cromwell's body from Westminster Abbey and the disinterment of other regicides John Bradshaw and Henry Ireton, for a posthumous execution at Tyburn. After hanging "from morning till four in the afternoon",the bodies were cut down and the heads placed on a 20-foot (6.1 m) spike above Westminster Hall. In 1685 a storm broke the pole upon which his head stood throwing it into the door of 142 Clapham Omnibus

Do your own research you lazy, ignorant fool.

Things to look up (taking as benchmark a broadly similar country we used to compete with):

        (1) value of German exports vs UK exports last year
        (2) ranking of UK in exports before Thatcher and after
        (3) Germany unemployment rate vs. UK unemployment rate
        (4) UK GDP/debt ratio

        the list goes on ....
        Hard Brexit now!

However, that does not mean that the vast majority of those who have jobs, families and are not interested in politics support her.

No but if you take a look at the type of people who support your left wing position I would suggest that the hatred she recieves has more to do with her being a woman or her proving that socialism is a failed and immoral ideology than it is about her policies.

No one will argue to repeal her policies and no one can produce a detailed case to say that things could have been done differently.

The best that the left can offer to justify the vilification of her is that

                  1. They care about the miners (they do not they are lying)
                  2. They care about the jobs she cut (another lie)
                  3. Milk snatcher (she was not)
                  4. Poll tax (had little effect on anyone and she was past her sell by date at this stage)
                  5. And finally some tenuous link between the problems of today and her policies -

Feck me imposssible though it may appear, I may even have over-estimated your intelligence.
What are your thoughts (I use the term with great optimism but not much hope) about the destruction of Britain's industrial base under Thatcher? Or do you think it doesn't matter?
