We have never asked for any changes in curriculum on our account. it would be nice if you did not mix us with Pakistanis and Bangladeshis or Nigerians in your ramblings tough. If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question. -

Now that is about 1,000 years apart. My mind has gone blank. I wonder if it was always that way.

When I studied the 2nd World War we learnt about letting Poland down. Plus in some places in the UK there is an older Polish immigrant population and one of my teachers was 1st generation, so we learnt why "they" were over here.Originally posted by mos View PostWe are Poles. A bit of Polish history but in a British context.
The parts we learnt about the people around us and the buildings were the most interesting. There as learning about the Normans when there are no bloody Norman castles where I grew up was f***king boring."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Curious about how giving a guarantee to Poland and then declaring war on Germany once it had invaded could be seen as letting Poland down - could see the argument for the Czechoslovakia but not for Poland - what else do you think we could have done?Originally posted by SueEllen View PostWhen I studied the 2nd World War we learnt about letting Poland down. How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't thinkComment

Also there were a more than a few polish pilots in the RAF during battle of Britain, and the poles did quite a lot of foundational work on cracking the enigma code before Poland fell. There is a reason we have a polish war memorial in north london.Originally posted by mos View PostWe are Poles. It annoys me when people whinge about the polish, all of the ones I've met are bloody hard working and round my way I see quite a few polish builders vans because they've started their own businesses and are doing well.
Apologies for the rant but it really annoys me how some people with no grasp of history want to demonise people that quite honestly we should be welcoming with open arms. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

I don't think most minorities do. Unfortunately the policies on such issues don't seem to be decided by the sensible majorities of minorities. We still get stuck with them, hence the necessary inclusion of minor figures like Mary Seacole in the national curriculum. We are adaptable and never asked for any changes to the judicial or educational systems in the UKbloggoth
