Are you saying we're all well to do just because of Thatcherism? Were there no rich people before her?
Could not wealth be a function of talent and application?
Are you beginning to feel like you did when you were ten and in one of the maths lessons you couldn't quite grasp?

Oh and why do you go off on a tangent when someone posts some hard factual data that contradicts your erroneous pet beliefs.?

Face it your arguments have been punctured, exploded and destroyed and you are reduced to pathetic ad-hominem responses.

You ramble on and on about Thatcher like a love-struck schoolboy, and with about as much logic.
        Hard Brexit now!

I can't really say, I didn't get to go to a grammar school, because she mainly closed most of those when she was education secretary, so perhaps I prospered despite her intervention. Most of my 'wealth' came under Major and Blair, was it because of them or despite them who knows. I would say it's mainly down to the work ethic of my parents, which in turn came from theirs.

I think you are showing a lack of knowledge there. She didn't close the grammar schools local authorities with Labour leadership closed them. Where Conservatives lead the council then (Buckinghamshire, Kent some parts of Yorkshire) Grammar schools still exist.

I do not think that had it been for Thatcher IT contractors would have flourished. The driving force behind the growth of IT came from the banks and the power companies. This then trickled into the media (another industry Thatcher rescued from the clutches of the Unions).

If Thatcher had not happened most of the functions fulfilled by IT systems would still be labour intensive. Whilst I would not go into any great argument with you about council home sales if you think of any single sector that has benefitted so much from Thatcherism it is the IT contracting market.

As you do not believe in coincidences then it is no coincidence that the IT contracting industry has been deeply undermined by IR35 and offshore/onshore/immigration under labours watch.

                  Pathetic.

BTW have you ever thought that without Thatcher you might have made something of yourself in a useful industry that contributed positively to the balance of payments, rather than being a useless middleman spiv. And thereby have been richer more ways than financially? Not to mention contributing to the wealth of your country rather than just yourself?

                    Did she?

Q&A: Grammar school policy | Education | Education Guardian

Is this stance on grammars a first for the Conservatives?
No. In the 1970s, Margaret Thatcher - herself a grammar school girl - opened the door for local councils to decide themselves whether their schools should retain their grammar status when she was the education secretary. She, like Cameron, took a political gamble. She believed that grammar schools were safe and popular with parents and councils, who would want to retain them.

But it proved to be a political misjudgment as many councils took the opportunity to rid their towns and cities of selective state education. The grammar schools that exist today are left over from that era: their councils stood firm in retaining selection.

I dont "do" thinking - that's for clever people like you. I prefer to remain stupid and let clever people like you go out and do the work and pay me for doing nothing.
