Jesus already summarised the commandments:

1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and soul.
2. Love your neighbour as yourself.

Point 1 will naturally be rejected by many, but point 2 is far better than "respect".

The old ten commandments had real meat on them. These new ones are typical sandal-wearing tree-hugging liberal beardy "wouldn't it be nice if everyone was nice" tulip, and they'd make a terrible film.

I like how they managed to shoehorn "look after the environment" and "respect the scientific method" into a supposedly moral framework.

I don't think I disagree with any of those, but they're already encapsulated by what the bible teaches me. As for "religions break most of these" that makes no sense. A religion is an abstraction, not an entity. People who are in religious leadership have broken all of these, so have people in secular leadership. I could as well say "atheism has broken most of these" and it would mean just as little.

I don't mind people believing in imaginary beings. I get annoyed when they try to make me live my life according to what those imaginary beings have told them.
