I don't think what voters perceive as credibility and representative value is in any way, shape, or form linked to a candidate's actual integrity and leadership skills. But the latter don't normally become too apparent until it's already too late.

Except for some extreme cases of course. Which is why Farage doesn't make a great candidate. He already fails on all four points.

So, Anti-Europe, blame it all on Jonny Foreigner? Vote UKIP
Lazy git, want to breed 11 kids and get a new council house? Vote Labour.
Hoping for something better but likely to be disappointed? Vote Tory.
Kind of liberal-ish, easy going and fairly sensible, but sadly gullible? Vote Liberal Demoprat.
          Chav scum? Vote BNP.
Mitch have you ever thought of setting up a political commentry program "for the average simple cretin"?

You can't please all of the people all of the time.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'
