    Top comment.

Can someone do the necessary? (You must spread some more reputation blah blah)

        Why not indeed.

If people need to claim benefits from public funds, their names should be, er, public.

That would be my exact point

Presumably that includes anyone claiming any sort of benefit such as income support, child tax credits, free prescriptions, etc?

And we should also publish a list of anyone receiving NHS treatment. After all they're taking it from public money.

Yes, and we should detail the treatment they're receiving, so we know if that bird in accounts has been treated for the clap. Yet.

I believe it's called accountability, if Mrs Smith in number 7 is claiming she can't walk more than 100m without being pain and receiving DLA for it fine. But then if I see her jogging every evening something is obviously amiss

                  I totally agree with this.

There's a pub in my town which attracts all the alcoholics and nutjobs (no it isn't my local) and I'd say that during an average day all the punters are the 'permanently on benefits' types (well I know that none of them works for a living). So it'd be interesting to know what they're scrounging for since they obviously have plenty of cash for booze. That's my cash (taxes). For their booze. Nanny does not know best IMO.

I believe that sort of treatment in the UK is normally anonymous.

So you think a society which encourages one to sneak around reporting your neighbours is a good thing? Stalin thought the same thing.
