The majority are Romanian so she was still correct. People pissing their knickers over comments like that are laughable.

The trouble is, is that she is tarring all Romanians, etc. with the same brush. Yes, the country is knee deep in corruption, yes, they do have a reputation but as many people have stated, the Border Agency need to be stricter and measures need to be bought in. One way they could start is by having a word with the Big Issue which many immigrants go straight to and this is one of the ways that they get into the benefit system. Tell the Big Issue to sort out their policy of letting any old so-and-so to sell their newspaper, that might be a start. The next would be for UK people to go and do the jobs that the influx of immigrants will do but that's like trying to put the tulip back in an elephant fed on Ex-Lax.

BTW, I see a lot of East Europeans here, more than the UK and yes, there are problems. Many towns are asking for extra monies to help put in place the infrastructure to deal with the influx. This is Dortmund now

All crime! I'm quite impressed by that. You might expect a representation in some sort of crime but to manage 10% of all types of crime really shows some sort of obssessive determination. They must be very well organised, "Hey chaps according to the latest calculation we are only responsible for 1% of murders this month so far, we really must go on a rampage this week."

As I'm trying to explain to vetran here, in all of this thread I don't yet have a rough idea of the % of Romanians resident in the Uk who commit a crime. Only if this figure is higher than, say, the average % of other immigrant communities, can we conclude that people of Romanian origin have a higher propensity to commit crimes.
I would also prejudicially imagine that the Roma sub-population of Romanians would be more criminal than the non-Roma subpopulation, because I am not immune to journalistic and other propaganda.
However I would not presume to comment on this till I have the figures as I am aware of my human failings and realise that's why we have developed mathematical methods to get to the truth.
In all the numbers bandied around we seem to have the numerator but not the denominator.

Is that it? You aren't sure how many Romanians are in UK? Join the border agency they haven't got a clue either. But I suspect its much less than the Polish or even the Greek population most of the evidence suggest this.

We have a list of nationalities and the number of crimes committed by them, Romanians make the top 3. Then we have a study of nationalities in UK on which the Romanians don't feature in the top 20.
