"Hutchings said of her 12-year-old, who has ambitions to become a surgeon,
"William is very gifted, which gives us another interesting challenge in finding the right sort of education for him – impossible in the state system...He wants to be a cardio-respiratory surgeon."
"He's 12 years old FFS. "
----------------------------
Also there is no such specialism as cardio-respiratory surgeon and 78% of surgeons have a state education - according to my source at the GMCI'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

if an estimated 1 million Polish in UK legally commit 6000 crimes. Then an estimated <100,000 Romanians here legally (on tourist visas etc) commit 4000 crimes then the rate is obviously much higher. This of course is in a population estimated between 65-70 million.Originally posted by sasguru View PostHTH, BIKIW
PS To make it crystal clear as I know very many on here are completely innumerate, what percentage of Romanians commit crimes? The number allowed in is a different issue, but we would need to compare each nationality by percentage as the absolute numbers are meaningless.
Difficult to be exact with such things but then statistics are rarely exact when dealing with populations, people don't always do what they should. The only vaguely reliable figure is the number of crimes committed by foreign nationals claiming to be nationality X.
What would you need to make it more than indicative?
If you are expecting exact figures you are possibly showing naivety and should really stick to elementary maths.Comment

Stick to talking crap on internet forums, when you talk about "statistics" you only succeed in showing your absolute ignorance.Originally posted by vetran View Postif an estimated 1 million Polish in UK legally commit 6000 crimes. Apart from the fact that she wasn't talking about Roma but about Romanians which is a common mistake made by people:Originally posted by minestrone View PostI have no problem with what she said, the Roma are nothing more than an ethnic crime wave who should never have been let into the country.
The Roma (Roma in Romani; Romi or Țigani in Romanian) constitute one of the largest minorities in Romania. According to the 2011 census, they number 619,007 people or 3.2% of the total population, being the second-largest ethnic minority in Romania after Hungarians. The Roma are Romania's most socially and economically disadvantaged minority, with high illiteracy levels.
Documenting Romania's Roma population remains difficult; many Roma do not declare their ethnicity in the census and do not have an identity card or birth certificate. Since 2007 members of this ethnic group have migrated to Spain, Italy, and France, where many Roma have experienced hostility and racism.“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment

Still not sure what your point is,
mine is : large number of offences committed by what seems to be a small number of people, soon to be a large number of people=bad.
not had anything except abuse from you, if you have a point make it!
otherwise I will continue to believe you are spouting crud.Comment

The majority are Romanian so she was still correct. People pissing their knickers over comments like that are laughable.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostApart from the fact that she wasn't talking about Roma but about Romanians which is a common mistake made by people:Comment

Was she?Originally posted by minestrone View PostThe majority are Romanian so she was still correct. .
As I'm trying to explain to vetran here, in all of this thread I don't yet have a rough idea of the % of Romanians resident in the Uk who commit a crime. Only if this figure is higher than, say, the average % of other immigrant communities, can we conclude that people of Romanian origin have a higher propensity to commit crimes.
I would also prejudicially imagine that the Roma sub-population of Romanians would be more criminal than the non-Roma subpopulation, because I am not immune to journalistic and other propaganda.
However I would not presume to comment on this till I have the figures as I am aware of my human failings and realise that's why we have developed mathematical methods to get to the truth.

In all the numbers bandied around we seem to have the numerator but not the denominator.Hard Brexit now!
