Also 1 in 3. Is this based on Select Distinct(Abortees) from Female Population or Select sum(Abortees) from Female Population before dividing by said population as I know some women who've had multiple abortions. As <9 weeks is by drugs it's all a bit misleading. With that said though, having an abortion is to easy IMHO and is seen as another simple choice for the modern girl. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions! -
Well, in that case I'd expect it to be higher - within the UK anyway (where access to Levonelle doesn't require a doctor's visit, like in many other countries). But that's not necessarily an abortion, as there may never have been a pregnancy. I was wondering if it included miscarriages - considering that those, medically speaking, are abortions.Originally posted by mudskipper View PostThey weren't specific. I suppose including the morning after pill is the logical explanation for such a high figure.Comment

No it bloody isn't - there are women (and it isn't a small number) who have abortions when they have other children.Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostWith that said though, having an abortion is to easy IMHO and is seen as another simple choice for the modern girl."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Morning after pill can be obtained from the pharmacy, and apparently (according to newspaper headlines) school nurses.Originally posted by formant View PostWell, in that case I'd expect it to be higher - within the UK anyway (where access to Levonelle doesn't require a doctor's visit, like in many other countries)."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Yes it bloody is. The option to abort a child is to easy. Even if you have children and another accidently comes along the option for a woman to run to the doctors and take a pill without any thought to their partner is to bloody easy. Abortion is an easy way out these days as it's an easy hidden process and there is no longer any stigma.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostNo it bloody isn't - there are women (and it isn't a small number) who have abortions when they have other children. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

There may be no social stigma in all the circles you move in but there is in some of mine.Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostYes it bloody is. The option to abort a child is to easy. Oh and in several of the cases I know it was the partner saying get rid of it. In one case the guy even added your problem you sort it if you want to stay married.
Though I have met a couple of women who I thought should be sterilised as they used abortion as a form of contraception and one definitely didn't have below average intelligence in other matters.
BTW if you are blatantly anti-abortion you never get to hear all these things."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

I'm not blatantly anti-abortion, but I've been in a situation where my partner wanted to have the abortion and I was opposed to it on the grounds of 'it is what it is'. The decision should not be made lightly and I've seen women make the decision on the grounds of 'I've got a holiday booked' or 'im not with someone at the moment'. In the second case, that person made the decision three times and at 43 is now distraught as she now has no partner and the opportunity has gone.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostThere may be no social stigma in all the circles you move in but there is in some of mine.

So because you know/known some stupid individuals who use abortion as a form of contraception and one of your ex-partners didn't want a child, all women are the same?Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostI'm not blatantly anti-abortion, but I've been in a situation where my partner wanted to have the abortion and I was opposed to it on the grounds of 'it is what it is'. I always thought your reasoning was superior to Robinho's when it came to human behaviour."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Seriously? You don't think that views to abortion have changed in the last 30 years??? You may dress like a Christian but the similarly ends there.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostSo because you know/known some stupid individuals who use abortion as a form of contraception and one of your ex-partners didn't want a child, all women are the same?

My wife has had two miscarriages - the doctor told us 1 in 3 conceptions resulted in miscarriage.
Both times she had a D&C - maybe this is what is meant by 'abortion' - as it kind of is although its not.Comment
